Greenways Drop-In Session
Seattle's Department of Transportation is working to build greenways across the city to keep streets safer. To share your opinions on the proposed greenway for 23rd Avenue, or to just get your questions answered, stop by this last drop-in session and meet with staff from the Central Area Neighborhood Greenway and the 23rd Avenue Corridor Project.
Neighborhood Greenways Drop-in Session, Fri, January 31, 4:30–7pm, Miller Park Community Center, 330 19th Ave E, free.
Washington State Democrats
The Washington State Democratic Central Committee is having its annual winter meeting.
This weekend's contest in Vancouver, where the party is choosing a new chair (perhaps Dana Laurent, the former political director for Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest), is actually more important for Washington state than the showdown at MetLife stadium in New Jersey.
WSDCC Winter Meeting, Sat, February 1, 1:30–5pm, Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W Sixth Street, Vancouver, free.
Through the Eyes of Art
To celebrate black history month, the EMP is hosting a free evening of local art—painting, photography, multimedia, sculpting—focused on the theme of gentrification and the effects it has had on our city and citizens.
Seattle City Council member Bruce Harrell will deliver the evening's keynote address, and hip-hop artist Draze will perform.
Through the Eyes of Art—The Voice of a Gentrified Seattle, Sat, February 1, 6–9pm, EMP Museum, 325 Fifth Ave N, free (but reserve a spot through Brown Paper Tickets).

Keeping Kids Safe in Changing Times, Wed, February 26, 7:30–9pm, Town Hall, 1119 Eighth Ave, $5.
