One of these things is not like the other: silk skinny ties, three-piece wool suits, a cologne collection,  and a 60-foot monohull racing yacht designed to be sailed by one person around the globe.

Surprisingly enough, Hugo Boss has united all of the above with its sponsorship of British skipper Alex Thompson and his racing team. Thompson recently completed the Vendée Globe, a solo round-the-world race which he finished in 80 days, 19 hours, 23 minutes and 43 seconds. He placed an impressive third.

We took the boat for a Puget Sound spin on its West Coast stopover last Saturday (not alone, obviously, but they did let us steer) and were struck by the ship's practically chic details—like the three kilometers of color coded ropes and specially designed Hugo Boss gear for the crew.

For some serious style see this video of a Boss-outfitted, Bond-like Thompson walking on the keel of the boat.

To have your own suit-on-a-jet-ski moment (or perhaps just to wear to a late-summer wedding) find the current Hugo Boss collections at local boutiques Mario's and David Lawrence.
