Henry’s First Ave Tavern
Portland’s popular Pearl District tavern has expanded to the SoDo neighborhood, offering 100 beers and ciders on tap and a wide variety of food items, including sushi, steak, and burgers with waffle fires. The new spot on First Ave is in walking distance of Safeco and CenturyLink, and will open three hours before events at these stadiums.

Tup Tim Thai
Oh, sadness. Queen Anne View says this sweet Thai restaurant in Queen Anne will close May 28. Rising rents are reportedly the cause. 

Joko’s Indonesian Kitchen
The Stranger posted a photo
of the small Ravenna Indonesian restaurant with boarded up windows at 910 NE 65th Street. It opened about a year ago, taking the place of Julia’s.

First Hill Bar and Grill
This haunt on (you guessed it) First Hill had a 34-year run before closing its doors, The Stranger reported last weekend. Green Leaf owner Ridgley Kuang has already bought the restaurant and has plans to rename the space Lotus Asian Kitchen and Lounge and open after a few months of construction.

Nellie’s Coffee and Toast
After three years, the Nellie’s location by the Ballard Locks on NW 54th Street has closed. My Ballard doesn’t know much yet due to the owners not being able to comment, but they are still investigating.

Din Tai Fung
The frenzy-inducing Taiwanese chain has a Bellevue location that's always packed. And come November, a second location in University Village should be just as crowded.

Pecos Pit II
Eater Seattle reports
that the original Red Robin space on Eastlake is being taken over by Pecos Pit, specializing in barbecue brisket and pulled pork, like the original location on First Avenue S. Gerry Kingen, who also owns Salty’s, bought the Red Robin space in 1965 and has since taken over Pecos Pit in hopes to create a national chain. Construction will begin this fall.

Witness
Former Knee High Stocking Co. bartender Gregg Holcomb is opening his own cocktail bar in the heart of Broadway on Capitol Hill. His influences: good booze, hospitality, and the churches of the South. Some cocktails will be quite serious; others will be made in a blender and include peanut butter and ice cream. 

Little Uncle
The Thai takeout spot in Capitol Hill is expanding to an underground location at Pioneer Square, according to Eater Seattle. In the former Marcus’ Martini Heaven space on First and Yesler, owners PK and Wiley Frank said the menu will feature greatest hits and they will be offering cooking classes. It will open this summer.

REVAMPS

Proletariat Pizza
The White Center Now blog says
 that Proletariat Pizza is knocking down the wall between them and a former tattoo shop to make room for sit-down seating. The pizza place has occupied the space at 9622 16th SW for three and a half years and shares it with Caffe Delia, which operates in the mornings and early afternoons.

Firefly Café and Creperie
West Seattle blog says the cafe is adding an organic juice bar, and outdoor seating is in the works. Owner Charell Estby hopes to have the changes made by the end of May.

MEALS

Boom Noodle
Boom Noodle (actually now it just goes by Boom) has added late night dining Thursday through Saturday 10 to midnight that consists of a tapas menu with prices ranging from $7 to $14, well drinks for $3.50, and $1 off draft beer, wine, and sakes.
