Opening its doors on the first of the month, Resto is serving up breakfast (7 to 9:30) and dinner (5:30 to 10) on the Hill at 421 E Thomas Street. On the menu: breakfast dashi, faux pho, and spaghetti and meatballs.
Cintli Latin Folklore
Rafael Sanchez and Cintli designer Beto Yarce are bringing vibrant colors to Capitol Hill with the opening of their Latin-inspired cafe and gallery spot on Broadway, reports CHS. From 7 in the morning to 8 at night every day of the week, come try a tamale or empanada with an espresso, beer, or glass of wine.
Eric Ellsworth (Alexis, Belltown Pizza) and couple Ellie Rose and Steve Scalfati are teaming up to bring a new pizza joint and neighborhood hangout to the Central District, replacing All-Purpose Pizza, which closed last fall. Chef Mike Eagan will fire thin-crust pies with local meat and a “killer red sauce.” Also: pizza by the slice and delivery plans in the future.
Li’l Woody’s owner Marcus Lalario is expanding to Ballard with Molly Moon’s in a joint space at 2040 NW Market that will hopefully be open by summer. There will be an ice cream counter serving sundaes and milkshakes to go along with Woody's usual burgers and fries.
Billy Beach Sushi
Japan native Billy Beach is going back to his roots with this more casual hangout spot than his downtown Japonessa restaurant. He and his partners hope to open by the end of the month in the former Paratii Craft Bar space on Leary Way in Ballard; menu details are still scant, but you can be assured the sushi will be delish.
Mae's Phinney Ridge Cafe
Phinneywood reported the official closing of Mae’s Cafe located on Phinney Ave. N. Although retiring owner Jeanne Mae Barwick hasn’t found a buyer yet, she is selling decorations, including her cow-themed collection, at an open house/garage sale this Saturday from 10 to 4. Bring your cash (only) to take away a piece that made this cafe stand out in the neighborhood.
In addition to announcing last week that they will be expanding to Ballard, the Capitol Hill location is adding a new patio just in time for the good weather to roll in. The restaurant shut down operations April 1 to 4 for the revamp to take place.

Hooray. After a successful debut last weekend, brunch is becoming a regular thing at Russ Flint's new Pioneer Square butcher shop. It's just one seating, Saturday at 10:30. The menu includes a bruleed grapefruit with house-cured pancetta, pate en croute, roasted pork loin, and orange custard.
