La Bodega
The new restaurant brings the bold flavors of the Dominican Republic to downtown, just in time for the dark months. The bright green walls of chef and owner Manu Alfau’s new space provide a warming place for diners to enjoy Pastelitos and an amazing looking pork sandwich; a whole slew of other Latin American dishes are offered, too.

Homegrown: South Lake Union
The ever-expanding lunch options for Amazonians now includes Homegrown sandwiches, and at cheaper prices. This is the fifth location for the local sandwich chain, and the company has lowered the prices on all of the sandwiches.

Miller’s Guild
The roaring fires at Crush chef Jason Willson’s new venture in Hotel Max ignited this week with the opening of his new restaurant (after a week of reservation-only preview nights and special events for Kickstarter supporters). Prominently featured, along with the custom-built wood-fired grill, is a whole-animal menu and barrel-aged cocktails.

19th and Mercer
Between now and New Year's Day, the new businesses housed at 19th and Mercer in eastern Capitol Hill—Linda Derschang's neighborhood restaurant Tallulah's, cookie-and-ice-cream shop Hello Robin from Robin Wehl Martin and Molly Moon Neitzel, and mercantile Cone and Steiner from Joshua Henderson and Dani Cone—will be welcoming their first patrons. 


Plum Pantry
Chef and owner Makini Howell’s newest vegan and gluten-free restaurant has expanded to include a demo kitchen and juice bar. Cooking classes are expected to start up in January or February, so for now stop by for lunch and fresh-squeezed juice at the Seattle Center Armory.


Four new restaurants from Joule and Revel owners
A yet-to-be-named restaurant project from husband and wife chefs Rachel Yang and Seif Chirchi, the duo behind Joule and Revel, is coming to Capitol Hill at Pike and Summit in the summer of 2014. Expect one space that houses four different similar concepts: a Korean barbecue restaurant, a noodle stand, an ice cream window with frozen custard and parfait, and bar specializing in hard-to-find beers. 

The timeless Seattle landmark Il Terrazzo Carmine is getting an adjacent bar, according to Seattle Bussiness Journal. The soon-to-be Intermezzo will also be serving small bites. An opening is projected for March 31.


El Borracho
This week's restaurant-related caper takes place in Pike Place Market, where the hanging sign for El Borracho was stolen, according to Eater Seattle. The sign hung from an awning 8 feet above the ground, prompting owner Kittie Davidovich to wonder if a ladder was involved. Davidovich is offering a $100 dollar bar tab and a limo ride (?) for the return of the sign. The catch? The thieves must re-install the sign without being caught.
