This week we’re temporarily expanding our definition of happy hour to help you find festivities in the last hour of 2013. A Very Bawdy Celebration The Pike Pub invites you to celebrate the New Year and the release of Old Bawdy Barley Wine 2013 on December 31st. A $45 prix fixe dinner will be served 4-11—call (206) 622-6044 to make reservations—and the pub will be open till 1. Music by the Darian Asplund Trio 8–midnight and an Old Bawdy toast when the clock strikes midnight.
Exploratory Champagne Flights If you wish to consume your bubbly more contemplatively this NYE, Bastille and Stoneburner will each be serving four flights thoughtfully designed by somm James Lechner. Prices range from $14–$29. Hours for Bastille’s dinner menu are 5–11, bar opens at 4:30. Stoneburner’s happy hour starts at 3, with dinner from 5–11. Both bars are open till 1am.
Auld Lang Syne Did you know that the Scots invented NYE celebration as we know it? Called Hogmanay, Macleod's carries on the tradition with champagne, traditional Scottish songs (performed by proprietor Alan Macleod), live bagpipers, and, as always, scotch.
Poppin’ Bottles Like It’s a Rap Star’s Birthday Also in Ballard, King’s Hardware’s NYE party starts at 9 and features no cover charge, DJ Blazon Stone, and a recommendation for festive attire. Champagne toast at midnight.
Yes to Tacocat, No to Ryan Seacrest The party-pop band Tacocat will perform at Linda’s Tavern on New Years Eve. Champagne specials and a “100 percent Ryan Seacrest–free countdown to midnight” are also in order.
