Wherein we ask local wine notables to make our weeknight drinking decisions for us.

Licensed professional landscape architect and wine enthusiast T. Frick McNamara left her position at an architecture firm in 2010 to open bin 41, a wine shop in West Seattle, with husband Jon McNamara. After years of “geeking out” over the details of wine production, opening a store seemed like the best way for the couple to pursue a passion and share their knowledge with others.

So what do you think, T., what should I drink on Thanksgiving?

Our pick for a perfect Thanksgiving Day wine is the 2012 Lumos Pinot Gris Julia. It displays aromatics of baked pear, wildflowers, and peach pith with an alluring smoky mineral undertone. This is an elegant wine that will complement—without overpowering—a poultry-based main course while having the acid structure to hold up to the rich and savory side dishes. We also like the restraint in alcohol at only 12.2 percent. We recommend a few bottles, because this one sips so well on its own that you’re going to need another bottle for the main course.

The Price: $20
