3 Howls Launch Party
Help the Georgetown distillery kick off its new flavors at its launch party in The Upstairs, located in Belltown. The new flavors—a Plymouth-style gin, blood orange vodka, and bananas foster vodka (sounds interesting, right?)—will be served up in custom cocktails. The bash begins at 6:30. Miyabi 45th's Six-Course Sake Brewer’s Dinner
Chef and sake sommelier Mutsuko Soma will be hosting a sake brewer’s dinner at her Japanese gastropub in Wallingford. This $65 dinner include six courses with sake pairings. Four sake brewers from Japan (Shintaro Takahashi, Yoshiro Yamazaki, Hiroshi Sakamot, and Yoshitaka Kato) will be there to inform the guests about the drinks. Dinner begins at 7:00. Arcade Lights at Pike Place Market
The annual Arcade Lights celebration is back with quite the gathering of food and drink artisans in the historic arcade of Pike Place Market. More than 60 local food and drink purveyors, including Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, Ellenos Real Greek Yogurt, and American Brewing Company, will be handing out bites and samples. Tickets are $28 in advance, $35 day of, and include 10 redeemable tokens and a beverage keepsake glass. All proceeds benefit the Market Foundation. You can purchase tickets online.
SATURDAY, October 19Seattle Against Slavery Fall Wine Tasting
Come to the Seattle Against Slavery Fall Wine Tasting at 1:00 in the Fremont Abbey Arts Center to take a stand against slavery and have some vino while you’re at it. Sip on wines from Fletcher Bay Winery paired with selected cheeses by the Kitchen Sink Project. Human rights never tasted so good? Tickets are $20 and available online.
Naked City Brewery and Taphouse Anniversary Party

NaanSense’s Byron and Anita Hummel are putting on a three-course dinner to promote their plans for a nouveau Indian cuisine food truck. November 3: Gaza Dinner at La Bête with Laila el-Haddad and Taylor Cheney
La Bête cook Taylor Cheney, mastermind of the Monday night Arabic popup dinners, is a big fan of Laila el-Haddad, author of The Gaza Kitchen. So she invited her to come cook with her...and el-Haddad said yes. They're planning a set menu for $65 apiece (not including booze) that will be available throughout dinner service (4 to 10pm) that Monday night. Reservations are through phone only: (206) 329-4047. November 18: Rene Redzepi Visits Seattle UPDATE: SOLD OUT
On November 18, Rene Redzepi, head chef of world-renowned restaurant Noma in Copenhagen, is visiting Seattle on tour for his new book A Work in Progress: Notes on Food, Cooking and Creativity. His crew will be joining up with chefs like Matthew Dillon and Blaine Wetzel to prepare a four-course feast in Occidental Square. Do we even need to say this - food will be locally sourced. The $200 ticket price gets you dinner and dessert, wine from Washington’s Syncline Wine Cellars, and take home a signed copy of A Work in Progress. This is a big deal.
