A Taste of Iceland
Icelandic chef Thrainn Freyr Vigfusson is joining chef Brock Johnson at Tom Douglas’s Dahlia Lounge to bring you a modern Nordic menu full of ingredients sourced directly from Iceland during this four-day festival. SATURDAY, October 12

Washington Artisan Cheesemakers Festival
Now that the Pike Place Market cheese festival is no more, hit up Washington's largest gathering of local cheesemakers at the Seattle Design Center. Sample nearly 80 Washington-made cheeses and dairy products and sip on an assortment of beverages, including the Petite Pike, Pike Brewing’s special cheese-friendly beer made just for this event. Come to one (or both) of the sessions to benefit the Cascade Harvest Coalition. Tickets are $35 in advance, $45 at the door, and can be purchased online

19th and Delicious Block Party
Further proof that Capitol Hill's 19th Avenue is taking off: a brand new block party that runs from 12:00-5:00 at 19th and Mercer, future home of Hello Robin, Tallulah's, and Cone and Steiner. Look for brew from Fuel coffee, music by Night Cadet, sweets from Molly Moon’s, and more; all donations will go to Jubilee Women’s Center. Walking Dead Premiere Party at the Sorrento
Calling all Walking Dead and zombie fanatics (or those who just like to dress up like zombies): The Sorrento Hotel is hosting the Walking Dead season premiere party from 5:30-11:00, airing the end of season 3 and the season 4 premiere, There is even a trivia and costume contest. Come hungry (but please, not hungry for humans) and ready for ghoulishly inspired dishes and cocktails. This 21-and-over event’s entry fee is $10 and includes a signature cocktail. Sunday Suppers on Heyday Farm
The Vude and Heyday Farm on Bainbridge Island are hosting the first of six monthly Sunday suppers, which take place on the second Sunday of the month. For October, Hitchcock chef Brendan McGill will be serving fresh ingredients from Heyday. Tickets are $140 and can be purchased online.

Chicago Art and Deep Dish Pizza
Chicago-style food and culture will be on display at the Chicago Art Party at Benito's Chicago Eatery. The Mythos Art Club will display pieces about the history of the Windy City while the restaurant will display food samples, beer, and Proletariat wine. Drop in anytime during the afternoon to watch Mythos Art Club at work. Tickets are $5 and available at the door.

Think and Drink: Food for Thought - GMOs, Home-Cooked Meals, and the American Relationship to Food
Food experts Julia Harrison and Derek Wood will join Ross Reynolds of KUOW’s The Record to talk about Think and Drink program’s Food for Thought – GMOs, Home-Cooked meals, and the American Relationship to Food. This free event will spark conversation about how Americans relate to food and will touch on issues related to Initiative 522. This conversation is held at the Naked City Brewery and Taphouse at 7:00.
