The state house education committee split along party lines today with all the Republicans voting President Obama's way and all the Democrats voting against. Huh?

True.

Brad Shannon has the story of the latest loss for Obama-style education reformers in Olympia. Against the wishes of reformers such as the League of Education Voters and the business community that push for more standardized accountability on students and teachers, local Democrats passed a bill yesterday which postpones the mandate that all students pass a mastery of science test until the class of 2017.

Education committee chair Rep. Sharon Tomiko Santos (D-37, S. Seattle) and ten others voted to delay the science requirement, while 11 Republicans voted against dropping the requirement.
