The Ramos gin fizz, a classic NOLA cocktail with which to celebrate Mardi Gras in style.

As my coworker Laura Dannen points out on Culture Fiend, Toulouse Petit is having a big old Mardi Gras party tonight.

The DJ spinning begins at 10pm, all signs point to attendees feeling more than a touch under the weather at work tomorrow.

Meanwhile, KIRO reports that the Pioneer Square Mardi Gras celebration is returning after 10 years. (Violence in 2001 was what put the kabash on the multi-club bead-stravoganza for the past decade.)

Meanwhile up on the hill, Neighbours nightclub is hosting a Mardi Gras party with a $10 cover. Watch out for that coat check situation, the likelihood of your outerwear disappearing is only slightly lower than the likelihood that the DJ will play that "Bad Romance" remix two more times within the hour.

If all that sounds like a bit much, you could just go to a good bar and order a classic New Orleans cocktail to celebrate. Three of my favorites: the Sazerac, of course, the Ramos Gin Fizz (careful, this one takes serious skillz), and the Vieux Carre.
