BALLARD
From MyBallard, The Fat Hen is opening in the former location of A Caprice Kitchen. Run by Massimo and Linnea Gallo, the “family-oriented neighborhood cafe” will be softly open this week for breakfast and lunch.

Eater Seattle picked up Laura Olson’s hint about a new Po Dog coming to Ballard.

MyBallard also has news of Bad Albert’s reopening, this week. The pub, which closed in July, restarts under new owners Shawn and Cory Rockey.

BELLEVUE
Pearl Bar & Dining is starting its Harvest Dinner Series this Thursday, October 27, hosted by Jay Soloff of DeLille Cellars and featuring products from Snake River Farms. The series continues November 10 with a dinner hosted by Brennon Leighton from Efeste Winery. Both dinners start at 6:30 with champagne reception at 6:15.

CAPITOL HILL
Terra Plata, the long-awaited restaurant from Tamara Murphy, opened its doors Wednesday night. Capitol Hill Seattle blog has photos aplenty and details on the menu.

CENTRAL DISTRICT
Clean Greens hosts a harvest dinner fundraiser on November 5. The dinner is at New Hope Baptist Church from 6 to 9.

EDMONDS
The ever-popular Dick’s increased their ranks by one with its newly opened Edmonds location. Nancy Leson reported on the insanity.

KENT
Cal’s Classic American, the new venture from Shannon Galusha, formerly of Bastille, opened this week. Eater Seattle has pictures of the inside, including pour-it-yourself table taps.

WEST SEATTLE
The Sanctuary at Admiral is hosting a fundraising dinner for Volunteer Park Cafe on November 7. $95 gets you a seat for the dinner being served by some of Seattle’s best, including Josh Henderson of Skillet Diner/Street Food, Eric Tanaka of Tom Douglas Restaurants, Scott Staples and James Sherrill of Restaurant Zoe, Ethan Stowell of Ethan Stowell Restaurants, Mark Fuller of Spring Hill Restaurant & Bar, and Ericka Burke of Volunteer Park Cafe. Blue Willow Luncheonette and Catering told West Seattle Blog that they are stepping aside for a new cafe. Blue Willow Catering will continue in a new commercial kitchen location, but the lunch side of things ended on Tuesday.

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
La Carta de Oaxaca and Mezcaleria Oaxaca will be celebrating Dia de los Muertos on October 31 from 5 to 11. The Mexican holiday remembers loved ones who have passed away with private altars made using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the departed’s favorite foods. A live mariachi band will play from 5 to 6 at Mezcaleria Oaxaca before moving to La Carta de Oaxaca for the rest of the night. Costumes are encouraged.
