Ethan Stowell’s Tavolata goes Off the Menu on October 30 to celebrate Marissa Guggiana’s new book. Call 206-838-8008 to make a (necessary) reservation and join the author and chef at 6:30 for a three-course dinner ($35).

CAPITOL HILL
The Bottleneck Lounge ’s Hillside Harvest Feast returns for the fifth year on Saturday, October 22. Doors open at 2, with Skillet slinging food starting at 3. Enjoy cider or pumpkin beer while you score free t-shirts. No charge to get in.

Volunteer Park Cafe is holding its sixth annual pumpkin carving on Sunday the 23rd. Call 206-328-3155 to RSVP and bring your family to feast on cookies, pumpkin muffins, and warm cider. Festivities run from 2:30 to 4:30.

Eater initially reported that Baguette was temporary closing on October 27 to make way for a new format and name, but followed the report with a more somber one: that the sandwich stand is likely shuttering.

Eater also brings word of Skelly and the Bean, a new dinner and brunch house opening in the current home of Easy Joe’s. Seattle dining-scene vet Zephyr Paquette is at the helm; Easy Joe’s owner Derek Schaubroeck is relocating to Pioneer Square, according to Eater.

Wallyhood has good news for mushroom lovers: Wallingford Community Kitchen is going fungal for its monthly dinner, taking place Friday 21 at 5:30. Attendees will feast on cheddar-stuffed mushrooms, mushroom soup, mushroom polenta, and pierogies with mushrooms, and Luis Felix of the Puget Sound Mycological Society will be in attendance.
