Ever since Arcade Fire had their CD release ‘party’ at Madison Square Garden the first week of August (take that, CD release party in your basement), I’ve been lovin’ on the Terry Gilliam-directed live videos of that night, all available if you search ‘Arcade Fire Unstaged’ on YouTube. The Montreal band’s third and latest album, The Suburbs, is right up there with blockbuster 2004 album Funeral, hitting the mark on lush ballads (first single ‘The Suburbs’ rings of early Ben Folds Five), and new wave-y rock tracks like ‘Ready to Start’ and ‘Half Light II (No Celebration)’. But don’t just sit at your computer, scorning all the New Yorkers who got to see AF live: Arcade Fire play KeyArena on September 29 at 7:30pm, and tickets go on sale Friday, August 20, at 10am at ticketmaster.com.

Want to compare old and new? Check out the video of "The Suburbs" above, and Funeral ’s anthemic "Wake Up" below.
