Today in cuckoo fast-food news: Wendy’s has new "Natural-Cut" french fries—the skin is left on and the potatoes are sprinkled with sea salt instead of regular old salt.
Marketing chief Ken Calwell told USA Today that people associate sea salt with healthiness. "There’s a halo that goes with it. People associate it with good, natural things."
And yet, USA Today points out, the new fries—which debut on Thursday, November 11—have even more sodium then Wendy’s regular old floppy soggsters.
But what I really want to know is, what do these new guys taste like when dipped into a Frosty? Something to investigate the next time I’m at the airport.
I mean what? I’d never eat these.
