David Narazaki has lived and breathed coffee culture for the past 20 years. First he worked at the handmade Florentine espresso machine company La Marzocco, and for the past seven years he’s managed the Caffe Ladros all over town. Still, coffee beans aren’t the only way he gets his buzz.
Pike Place Fish, Frank’s Produce, and the Creamery, right behind Jack’s Fish Spot. The owner, Nancy Nipples, gives the greatest hugs in the market. She legally changed her name to Nipples after she bought the Creamery. She’s a character.
Ingredient of the Moment
Salmon collar. You just salt it and broil it. There’s so much meat there, and it’s so fatty and oily. It’s sooo good. This time of year when we’re lacking Vitamin D, salmon collar is a great source, and it’s the part of the fish that people usually throw away. I get mine at Pike Place Fish.
Only one? Okay, Steelhead Diner. The food is good, and I love the people. I love the staff, starting with the owners on down. To me, that’s even more important than the food.
