YOU REALLY CAN HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. Seattle is a haven for the indoor crowd—café dwellers, book nerds, and software slaves—but this is also an outdoor rec mecca. Lots of water, dense forests, and skylines so beautiful grown men have been known to weep at the sight of them. This region has more mountains, rivers, peninsulas, and vistas than any one person will ever be able to scale, raft, or trek in their lifetime, much less one summer.
