New York City-based Houghton Bride designer Katharine Polk offers some straight-up real talk when she welcomes web viewers to her site with the statement, "I am creating a bridal collection for the woman who wants to get married in something simple, sexy, and timeless."

Simply put, from a fashion perspective, it's one of the most exciting things in the wedding world. Period.

Which is why we couldn't be any happier that the collection is on it's way to Seattle—to the Dress Theory.

The style-focused boutique hosts a three-day trunk show of current Houghton looks from Friday March 21 through Sunday March 23 during regular shop hours (currently 9 to 8 daily).

Shop owner Camille Wynn told me, "Houghton is sending out all the pieces, from the softer, lace numbers to the pantsuits and white leather reception shorts!"

White leather reception shorts, folks. That's what I'm talking about. There will also be a 10 percent discount on Houghton orders over that weekend.

If you consider yourself a modern bride and you're aiming for a modern wedding-day look, I recommend calling the shop now to book your appointment.
