When Seattle-native and jewelery designer Faris Du Graf told us on a recent hot summer night that she might not go back to Oakland—that in fact she might stay here in town, where she's been working on her eponymous line in a cozy little family-style workshop—we gave Seattle a secret high five. Way to woo them, 206.

We need people like her in a town like this. Designers who think big and bold, designers who speak a language that's understood in every major city, designers who are, in Du Graf's own words, streetwise and architectural.

Du Graf and her sister Lauren outside Indian Summer on Summit Avenue. Both women are, of course, wearing Faris.

Hitchcock Madrona gets the same metaphorical high five for bringing the Faris line into their shop. I love that Erica and Dustin have a place where the best locals are on shelves next to international bold-faced names like Eddie Borgo.

Now it's your turn to give an overhead slap.

Get to Hitchcock on Thursday, August 22 between 5:30 and 7:30 to celebrate the launch of Faris with a glass of champagne, and to meet the smart, kind, and incredibly hip designer in person.
