Oh, the luxury of exclusivity. The recently opened Tom Ford Beauty counter at Bellevue Square Nordstrom is the only one of its kind in any Nordstrom anywhere—anywhere in the entire Northwest, for that matter.

Here are three things you need to know about how to make the most of this new resource.

  1. The lip colors are off the hook. You’ve got your neon oranges and moody burgundies à la spring runways as well as super pigmented hues in fiery reds and chic nudes. And these puppies are actually formulated to make your lips feel better the day after you wear them. Quelle ambitious. How? Some exotic mixture of chamomilla oil and Brazilian murumuru butter. Whatever it is, we definitely felt murumuru-y the next day. (And then there are the vivid shades of those nail lacquers, but ah, well, let's move on...)
  2. They believe in proper prep, Nordstrom's reigonal Tom Ford market specialist Jana Maser informed me. The whole idea behind the line is a fast and easy transition from au natural to vibrant. For instance: Illuminating Primer. It's meant to create a cutting-edge, minimal look that you can easily glam up with a flushed cheek and celestial eye. The primer is barely tinted (think candlelight glow) and has a pearlized pigment to yield a luminous, dewy shine. Because sometimes you just don't feel like layering on the maquillage; you'd rather have a easy, fresh glow.
  3. It’s the best smelling counter around. Of course, Tom Ford scents are iconic—and crazy expensive—but his Private Blends have an added element of exclusivity to them: they come straight from the designer's imagination. A lot of us know Tom Ford for seductive, unisex scents that are concentrated enough to apply just once. Maser made sure to mention that the designer considers these scents to be the final accessory—that last touch you spritz on after the edgy earring and rosegold cuff.
You can check out the line for yourself on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8 during normal store hours as Nordstrom hosts a grand opening mixer for clients and beauty seekers.
