Local designer Cameron Levin just released her spring 2013 resort collection, Ruby—a line inspired by the art and culture of Spanish flamenco dancing.

"Having previously lived in Spain was a major influence; I've always wanted to pay homage to one of my favorite places in the world where women are extraordinarily expressive, vibrant and powerful," says Levin.

Ruby is inspired but not costumey, drawing on the deep Merlot and black color palette and flared skirts of flamenco dresses, but with a less dramatic silhouette. Levin's dance background gives her an interesting eye for movement in addition to form; the separates drape gracefully and flow in a way that complements the wearer.

Ever the Northwesterner, the eco-conscious designer constructs many pieces from the collection with washable silks and organic cottons. Helping the environment and taking less trips to the dry cleaner? We're on board with that.
