Natalie Anderson's original spot—that sweet little homey blue shop—is now occupied by Anne Smith and Studio Montagne.
The space is now an on-again-off-again pop-up style storefront, and business is definitely in session for the holiday season. A kick-off party on Thursday, December 6 from 5 to 8 celebrates the inaugral run dubbed Woodsmoke (subhead: "Cozy"); up now through December 30.
To go with the globally sourced home and lifestyle goods—wooly Tibetan shawls, reworked vintage furniture, small batch decor pieces, a signature roll-on portable fragrane (I snagged one!), and woodsy sachets, wool ipad covers, and other pieces from Smith's sister's line, Poem Crown—the December 6 party will feature an accordian playing busker out front and a cozy fire in the postage stamp-sized "backyard." (All those Driftwood visits and we never once even suspected it was there.)
If you don't drop by for the event, be sure to get to it on your holiday shopping rounds. Smith is a smart and inviting shopkeeper, and there's a thoughtful story to go with everything in her space.
