‘I learned a ton from customers, and will miss the feedback,’ says Parker, ‘but I entered into direct sales due to a sluggish economy and wholesale being not what I needed at the time, and now it is time to go back to wholesale. I will still have online offerings, and trunk shows here and there—but i just needed to focus my time.’
OPEN: The Lizzie Parker Blue Label at Nordstrom Rack. Fashion tops, with Parker’s signature drape. All made in the US for under $20. The pieces are in all five Racks locally; another delivery will arrive in July—and it will include plus sizes. Parker says she her Fashion Star fan base made it clear to her that that’s what they wanted.
How? ‘I had been speaking to Nordstrom on and off throughout my years in the business, but the timing was never in sync,’ says our Fashion Star. ‘After filming the show, I started working with a sales rep I have known since my first apparel trade show in Seattle. Nick and I looked at where we saw the knit business going, and we realized between the two of us could do great knit tops for a competitive price, so with our rep, we approached Nordstrom. We all realized that we had the right product and the right time for their customer, and it happened! Nick and I could not be happier to be working with such a great Seattle company.’
