What's black and clear and waterproof all over? This cool, mod-ish jacket from local designer Miriam Reynolds' rainwear line Clear Coated. Reynolds, a 2010 graduate of Seattle Central's apparel design program debuted the collection as her final project and has since seen a steady expansion of orders for her vinyl outerwear.

We should mention that clear is practically the new black or whatever (see: Charlotte Olympia perspex clutches), and the idea of finally showing off what's under your coat in this city is particularly appealing.

Contact Reynolds for orders and check out her the rest of her line—including hats, high-heel covers, even jackets for your pooch—on the Clear Coated site. Coats start at $250. And hurry, summer is bound to arrive one of these days.
