WHERE: Nordstrom downtown

WHAT: Local T-shirt maker Horses Cut Shop is expanding its collection of 48 Americana-inspired tees into Nordstrom stores this month and kicking off the launch with an exclusive downtown popup shop.

Owner (and Seattle Met style counselor) Gabe Johnson and his partner Anne Vande Creek track down generations-old businesses around the country and turn their iconic logos into graphic tee fodder. (Think places like Ivar's, the Comet Tavern, and Ballard's Bardahl Manufacturing.) The brand then shares shirt profits with the businesses they feature.

Horses first worked with Nordstrom last November when it launched in the department store's New York offshoot Treasure and Bond. Aside from the popup, the full line will be available in select Nordstrom stores and on nordstrom.com starting this month.

WHEN: Stop by the popup in the downstairs men's department from Saturday, August 24 through Labor Day (Monday, September 2). Shirts retail for $34.
