The Amsterdam-based Scotch and Soda is set to open in U Village this fall. (We'll get back to you with a firm date.) Not unlike All Saints, the world-wide retailer carries trend-driven gear for men, women, and children.

The University District mall is expanding its offering by about a dozen stores this season; management announced via email that, "the dozen new shops, restaurants and services are all part of an expansion located on the south side of the property along NE 45th St which includes more than 700 new parking stalls in a garage atop the retail and dining establishments."

Other new shops include Calypso St. Barth, Sunglasses Hut, Nike Running, and something called Hot Mama, but it's Scotch and Soda that's going to get the buzz among the style set. The retailer shows up in more than 200 stores in the States, but only a handful of those are full-on Scotch and Soda locations like the one opening here.
