Infamous: Second Son - Seattle
Traversing Seattle rooftops is a big part of Second Son's gameplay, so the Sucker Punch team scaled the real Space Needle and photographed the tops of nearby buildings to portray an accurate picture. In the game the attraction is used as a transmission hub by the Department of Unified Protection, and those jagged growths that spiral up the sides of the monument may be blocking or monitoring citizens’ cellphone and Internet activity.

Sucker Punch worked with Seattle companies like Sub Pop and Elephant Car Wash (which will be selling copies of the game) to give Second Son some real world flair. "It’s a real city. And Seattle’s an awesome and beautiful city. There’s people that live here and some of them are, you know, some of them go to coffee shops. So you’ll see pedestrians sitting and their having a coffee. You’ll see people checking their cell phone. It’s a place that’s worth saving." - Dociu

"We (Sucker Punch Productions) are located in Bellevue right outside of Seattle. So we’re from the area. And it was just very appealing for us to do this kind of environment that’s not seen in games a whole lot. You get a lot of New York and that sort of thing. Especially with comic books, movies, and games, but you seldom see Seattle. And so we thought, 'Well, we love Seattle. We’d love to see the story take place here.'" - Dociu
