The vintage and antique workwear dealer said the trip was about "taking appointments at our apartment, checking out cool old buildings we dreamt of acquiring, doing a little buying, seeing old friends, getting lost, meeting new friends, starting new collaborations.... maybe planting a few LA seeds?"

Ziskis, who lives in Ballard, has worked for Blackbird and Totokaelo, and is part of the art/design duo CMRTYZ, is a pretty darn good advertisement for the collections.

Ziskis says, "We plan to continue to meet up stateside on a more regular basis; LA pretty constantly with a few other US cities sprinkled in. Next month my lady Amy Tisdale and I will be driving to San Fran to sell at the Alameda Market, then we head down to LA again for an event we're having with THVM denim on April 12, then bright and early the next day we'll do the Rosebowl Flea Market again."

"DeRien is about to open a "shop" in London— should be opening within the next month. The space will be a hangout zone filled with pieces from their private label collection, bits of vintage, jewelery, objects, art works, books, anything they find interesting. I'm extremely excited to go visit it soon, maybe for the opening reception."

But Ziskis also says the future of deRien is in creating. Cosmo, Richard Wise's son, "pulls elements of the old and new and fuses them together in the most authentic and effortless ways, creating silhouettes that are bold and fresh."
