Managing Editor

Ariana Donalds Dawes, a New York native and former copy chief for Time Out New York guidebooks, is the founding managing editor of Seattle Met

Ariana ensures general quality control across all media, from the monthly print magazine, mobile device editions, and email newsletters to the website, blogs, and apps. In addition being Seattle Met’s copy editor, policing grammar and style, she creates budgets and schedules, spearheads annual Top Doctors and Top Dentists surveys, and, when lucky, conducts the occasional Q&A with touring comedians like Bob Odenkirk.

During her tenure, Seattle Met has received dozens of awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and City and Regional Magazine Association. Her writing has also appeared in National Magazine Award–winning publications Print and Metropolis. She graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor’s in English literature and a minor in theater and dance.
