A New Greenway
Ballard's new greenway, a project to improve road safety for pedestrians and bicyclists along NW 58th Street, is finally open for business this Saturday after almost a year of development. After the ribbon-cutting by Mayor Mike McGinn, there will be a bike rodeo, walking tours, a sidewalk piano, free smoothies from a bicycle blender, and more.

Celebrate Love With Mary Lambert
Local artist Mary Lambert, who loaned her singing voice to the popular Macklemore track “Same Love,” is holding a concert to benefit Q Youth Resources, an organization that provides community for LGBTQ youth.
Learn how bicyclists and trucks can share the road to avoid collisions like the one that took place in Seattle last May.
The morning info session will clue bikers in about truck blind spots and offer other safety tips with simulations and truck ride-alongs.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) is coming to Seattle to speak at a fundraiser for the American Legislative Exchange Council (a conservative national think tank that promotes a right-wing agenda in state legislatures across the nation). Join labor union activists to protest his arrival, for passing legislation in 2011 limiting collective bargaining rights for state employees.
