Seattle police documents released earlier today indicate undercover vice detectives spent months investigating possible prostitution at a spa near the University District.

Police records say that an anonymous tipper called police in November 2009 and "claimed there was an Asian brothel" in a building in the 5200 block of Roosevelt Way NE.

Police found a listing for the business on Backpage.com, offering "$80 Relaxing with sweet Asian girl."

A detective made an appointment at the business in late November where, records say, a woman in her mid-40s offered the detective a handjob and told him it was included in the price of the massage.

Detectives made at least four more undercover visits to the alleged brothel over the next five months and spoke with employees about their work. One woman told detectives that the business has two different numbers—one listed on the building for customers interested in a "legitimate massage" and another customers can call if they "want the 'happy ending.'"

During the course of the investigation, police discovered that the owner of the massage parlor may also own several properties near the business. A search warrant affidavit says that in addition to prostitution, police are looking into whether the owners were involved in laundering money through the business.

It's unclear whether anyone has been charged in connection with the brothel, but we're working to find out.
