KING 5 Poll

I hear KING 5 is going to release a poll on the mayor's race tonight. And the word is: Neither Nickels nor Drago is going to like the results.

Same bad news for Nickels apparently—high negatives, low re-elect.

And for Drago? Could be that her name I.D. is lower than she thought.

Did you get the details about the poll questions? A friend received a call, and Drago was the first candidate listed in the "which candidate would you vote for" question. If anything, that should have helped boost name recognition. The order of the list was: "To vote for Jan Drago press 1 • Joe Mallahan press 2 • Greg Nickels 3 • Norman Sigler 4 • James Donaldson 5 • Mary Juanita Martin 6 • Elizabeth Campbell 7 • Mike McGinn 8 • Undecided 9"

It will be interesting to see how the head to head shapes up. The approvals are not all that indicative for nickels. I mean I would say I don't approve, but until Drago entered I would not have voted for any of the other candidates. Especially McGinn. That guy is a bit of a nut.

Giffy, McGinn's not even close to being a nut; passionate, yes; strong in his beliefs, yes; says what he believes, yes; but no nut. If you want a nut, check out Elizabeth Campbell (apparently there's a war on cars). Josh, please post the poll whenever you can, very interesting stuff.

@4 I said a bit of a nut. He is what you say and I dare say he make a good activist, but I would not want him as mayor. He is too much of an ideologue for my tastes and far too committed to things I consider rather fringe. I think we need a good balance of infrastructure but to be honest I don't bike, and don't plan to. McGinn seems too close to the masshole camp for my tastes...

Gidge @1, if this is a legitimate poll, they would rotate the names with each interview, thus negating any advantage re position. Every candidate would get an equal number of shots at the top of the list.
