UPDATE: According to Murray, he is replacing press secretary Megan Coppersmith with Jason Kelly, a former communications officer at the Port of Seattle and an ex-spokesman for former Gov. Chris Gregoire and the state senate.

1. Fizz hears that Megan Coppersmith, Mayor Ed Murray's press secretary since this past March, will be leaving the mayor's office to return to the city's Department of Information Technology as a public information officer. A new hire has reportedly been chosen to replace Coppersmith.

We have a call out to Murray's office to find out the latest on his new hire.

2. City transportation director Scott Kubly, who's made a reputation as a bike- and ped-friendly guy (in his most recent job, as acting president of Alta Bike Share, he helped set up a bikesharing system in Chicago), gets around mostly by walking, biking, and transit; in fact, he picked his new Seattle neighborhood (the Central Ditrict) based largely on the fact that it's easy to access from and to downtown Seattle wihout a car.

However, Kubly does have a car himself: A 2001 Infiniti I35, which he uses to get around when he doesn't have other options. His dream car, though, is a '70s-era Dodge Charger or some similar muscle car.
