I’m not sure, even after reading “how” you compiled this list of “top dentists”. I have been to 4 of the pediatric dentists on your list and there offices were very low class. Dirty, awful staff, obnoxious atmosphere. I was shocked to see some of the names on there. Do these dentists “contribute” a certain amount of money to the magazine? and then end up on the list? If so maybe they should take some of that cash and buy equipment that works, carpets that don’t have blood stains on them, and a staff who actually cares. I take my kids to Dr. Buda near Southcenter Mall and would never go any where else. He is by far number one in the area.
This is right up there on the worst-designed on-line lists for anything. You don’t even have a search tool to quickly find a dentist you know the name of – to see if he/she is on the list. I’m not surprised that there could be some real losers on this list if it comes from dentists referring each other.
My dentist definitely belongs on this list. Ava, if you’ve had a bad experience at your dentist’s office, try Dr. Petrich in Tukwila. His office is far from “Dirty” and the atmosphere is very pleasant. He’s really nice and you even get to choose and watch a DVD while your teeth are being worked on.
I just purchased your February, 2010 issue excited by the headlines: Top Dentists. I am desirous of having porcelain veneers in the next couple of months and I thought this might help narrow my search. Of course, just like most everyone else, you think there is no civilized life here on the Kitsap Peninsula. I even did as you instructed at the close of your article (to find more top dentists in KITSAP, Snohomish and Pierce counties got to seattlemet.com keyword:dentist 2010) and never was able to find any dentists other than those in Seattle or Bellevue and one in Tacoma. Did I miss something???
Please let me know. Thanks very much.
In response to Marcy’s comment: The list includes an orthodontist and general dentist from Marysville; two general dentists, an endodontist and an orthodontist from Bremerton; from Arlington an orthodontist, general dentist, and pediatric dentist; from Port Orchard a periodontist and oral & maxillofacial surgeon; two orthodontists and a periodontist from Silverdale; from Poulsbo an oral & maxillofacial surgeon; from Enumclaw three general dentists; a general dentist from Puyallup; and from Tacoma a periodontist and a prosthodontist.
Hey people, Stephanie Su is the best doctor in the whol world. My children go there and they always come back with a prize and a fun reward! Go there now! BTW no bloodstains and is very sanitary!
Dr. Rapoport is very unprofessional. While my son was asking him about the surgery he expectantly got up stating “I’m not doing this”. We were asked to reschedule. I’m sure there are better out there. We’re never going back or can’t image recommending him to anyone.
I am surprised by this list. Dr Keerti (general/cosmetic dentist) and Dr Young (orthodontist) definitely belong in the list! Both of them are awesome! Dr Keerti offers sedation dentistry and TMJ expertise besides cosmetic dentistry. Her office, skills and staff are amazing! Dr Young is a fantastic orthodontist whose staff is great with patients!

There’s one specialty not found in the listings: pediatric oral surgeon. It can be tough to find one — there are only a handful in the state. The new Center for Pediatric Dentistry (a joint venture by the UW and Seattle Children’s) at Magnuson Park has two on staff, along with other pediatric dental services: http://www.thecenterforpediatricdentistry.com/

If you mean Stephanie Su is the only kids dentist in Redmond area. Yes, that is right. But that is all. In each visit she only spends 5 minutes with the kid. The remaining of the appointment is always with the dental hygienist. They only work 3 and half days a week, their office hours overlap with the school hours. If you ask for an appointment, for the earliest available, you need to wait 6-7 months. Having a nicely decorated office and giving kids prizes should not be sufficient to be labeled as “best” in my opinion.
College students always try to search for very easy pathways. For instance, college students are willing to order Research paper rubric online. that makes people work-shy and it is a negative for development of writing skills.
So thrilled to see Richard E. Robinson of Kenmore on this list…completely deserving! Been going to him and his associates for 45 years with no complaints. Professional, sanitary, knowledgeable, compassionate, and so much more. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Robinson or his associates to anyone seeking a quality dentist.
Need implants, caps or any type of jaw rehab? I have had extensive work done by Raymond Lee DDS and his partner Dr. Kevin Joe DDS. The work they did to restore my mouth was amazing. My dentist on Mercer Island had been suggesting that I go to them for some time. He would say things like: “You have such a great smile, I think you would be happy with the result”. Years earlier, I had gone through a windshield and the front of my jaw was broken. I was left with a denture in the lower jaw and several caps on the top. The denture had wires to keep it in place, and over time they made it so I had to have several more teeth capped (they used gold). You can imagine, it looked like a patch work quilt. So when I say that Dr. Lee and Dr. Joe did an amazing job, you can understand that they really have to know what they are doing. You will find that the office staff and dental technicians are an integral part of the team and that they are both professional and fun to work with. The office is just North of UW in Seattle. I sincerely recommend them to anyone that wants to recreate what you were born with. I have my smile back! Oh their number is: (206) 522-8200.
How was this list compiled? I have been in the dental field for over 20 years. While some of the dentists listed have been practicing for quite some time and have excellent reputations, some listed have not been practicing for long or have horrible reputations in the community. I have to say, I’m quite disappointed.
I can personally vouch for Dr. Jeff Erwin in Marysville. He is a very compasionate caring person and a very talented dentist. I have never felt any pain while in his office. He ans his entire staff are very caring.
