The coming months are already packed with great food and drink events, but a new one from the James Beard folks just landed on the calendar. And Cal Anderson Park's massive street food gathering recently announced the lineup for its chef pop-up. These are heady times for fans of Rachel Yang.

The gathering of more than 50 trucks, carts, and other non-stationary culinary enterprises is abounding in people, but the  accompanying pop-up picnic component lets you wander less-crowded grounds on a presumably lovely summer night, eating tasty little things presented to you by 10 chefs, including McToughen, Matthew Lewis, Von Trapp's meat master Pete Fjosne, and Jennifer Shea of Trophy Cupcakes. Rachel Yang will debut a grilled beef tongue dish from the menu at her upcoming Trove, and Josh Kelly, the former Marination chef, will shed some light on what we can expect at his upcoming Good Bar. You can partake for as little as $75, though slightly spendier tickets layer in benefits like an Ethan Stowell-hosted afterparty at Hugo House.

September 26, Four Seasons Seattle
The organization behind the nation's chief culinary honor is bringing back its annual tour for a second year, though it's Seattle's first time on the 10-city itinerary. The James Beard Foundation dispatches a big-name chef, generally a winner of one of the national Beard award, to prepare a four-course dinner. In our case this will be Marc Murphy, a New York restaurateur (and Chopped judge). He will be aided in these efforts by Tom Douglas and Four Seasons chef (and awesome bobblehead tap handle) Kerry Sear. All this would be lavish experience enough, but there's also the small matter of the pre-dinner cocktail reception, where Best Chef Northwest winners Maria Hines and Jason Wilson, and Rachel Yang (who should, and probably will be a Best Chef Northwest winner at some point) will be dispensing bites and drinks. The Beard folks do not mess around when it comes to events (or corporate sponsorships) so this is bound to be an impressive night. Tickets start at $250.
