Assembly Hall Kitchen
Tom Douglas seems to make a point to appear in this post each and every week. This time it’s for his new Via6 lunch counter, serving up fried chicken and watermelon lemonade (until a switch to chili bowls in the fall) next to his Home Remedy and Assembly Hall Juice and Coffee at Sixth and Lenora. Zagat's Leslie Kelly sampled Assembly Hall Kitchen's two-piece chicken meal and had only good things to say.

Oliver’s Twist
We told you it would happen. The second Oliver’s Twist opened its doors at 3217 W McGraw on Tuesday, with well-poured cocktails, fully adorned small plates, and walls decked with glass and bone. The Magnolia Voice shared details after speaking briefly with co-owner Dan Braun.      

Alison’s Coastal Cafe and Bakery
Ballard’s Leary Avenue has added some “famous” breakfast sandwiches (Can we trust a boastful sign the owner put up herself? Yes, yes we can.) in the form of Alison Soike’s first brick-and-mortar venture. After three years at the helm of a catering company, Soike has brought her love for breakfast foods (available all day), sandwiches, and baked goods to 5404 Leary Ave NW, reports My Ballard blog.

Teddy’s Bigger Burgers
The crew at the Green Lake burger spot has been bringing Hawaiian vibes to Seattle since it opened, but the ambience just got a little better. How? Simple. They just let us know the city granted them a liquor license, and beer has made it onto the menu. Mahalo.

John Howie Restaurants
Chef John Howie digs cocktails and charitable giving, and he’s found a way to combine the two. Each of his restaurants will be offering one new specialty cocktail throughout the month of August, and one dollar from each drink purchased will be donated to BuildOn’s efforts to build a school in Nepal. Among the more intriguing offerings: Seattle Seastar Restaurant’s Kathmandu Breeze, made with vodka and house-made spiced iced tea served on the rocks.

Yuzu by Musashi
Capitol Hill Seattle Blog notes that Musashi proprietors Sam and Jun Park plan to expand their realm with Yuzu, targeted to open at 954 East Union in November. The goal, Jun Park says, is to bring typically $17-18 sushi rolls to Capitol Hill at a lower price point, and hopefully attract a more varied audience than the Parks’ previous restaurants, which include Musashi's on 45th, Musashi's in Bellevue, and Tig Asian Tapas Bar.
