Here’s the deal. Two days ago I reported that Yarrow Bay Grill, the 20-year culinary centerpiece of Kirkland’s sparkly Carillon Point, will be shuttered after dinner on April 30.
An alert reader (the only kind worth having—thanks!) tipped me that Bin Vivant, the not-yet-even-a-year-old anchor of Carillon’s Woodmark Hotel, will be taking up residence in YBG’s upstairs perch. The move will increase Bin’s seating capacity, not to mention its grandstand view, and its state-of-the-art argon gas wine storage system will move right along with it.
Estimated date on Bin’s relocation? Late June-ish.
As for Beach Cafe at the Point, a remodel will highlight its finest liquid assets—its bar (expanding) and its waterfront (bigger patio.) ETA end of June as well.
And what will occupy the old Bin shell? A private party and wedding room for the hotel, complete with retractable doors onto that sensational lawn.
Sigh. The cold and the grey have returned with a vengeance today, but as in my fantasy of the perfect Northwest July afternoon I’m sitting at one of Carillon Point’s beachy properties.
