Mashawi Mediterranean Cuisine
The brothers behind this Mediterranean restaurant held a soft opening this past week. Now Queen Anne View says a grand opening is planned for January 18 at 2, with Turkish coffee, baklava, and an appetizer on the house with the purchase of an entrée.

C.S. Finnegan’s Irish House
Eater Seattle reports Gareth Hughes’s Irish pub has poured its last Guinness after ten months in Belltown. Finnegan’s opened last year on St. Patrick’s Day. Hughes’s other slice of Ireland, West Seattle pub Celtic Swell, is alive and well.

Unnamed Greenwood Bar and Restaurant
Two industry vets are planning a restaurant and bar in Greenwood
. For now Perryn Wright, a bartender at Cicchetti, and his wife Desiree, a staffer at La Carta de Oaxaca and Copper Gate, are keeping mum on the name, concept, and location.

Bar Sajor
Matt Dillon's latest project is just weeks away. Located at the foot of Occidental Avenue's pedestrian mall, (the stoveless) Bar Sajor will serve cured fish, chicken, and assorted vegetables from a wood-fired oven or a fireplace outfitted with a custom-built rotisserie. There's also a walk-up window for on-the-go orders.

Fred Meyer: Greenwood
Phinneywood shares a preview of the Greenwood superstore, which officially opens February 1. The facility is huge—192,000 square feet, to be exact—and will include a Murray's cheese shop and grilling and sushi stations.

Populuxe Brewing
We gave you a heads-up a while back, and now it's time for the Ballard taproom (and cornhole destination) to open, according to My Ballard. Brewers Peter Charbonnier and Jiri Zatloukal expect to be at it by the end of the month.

Strong Arm Brewing
Washington Beer Blog brings an update on this two-barrel Renton brewery, set to open in April or May. The three founders plan to host beer tastings, pour pints, fill growlers, and sell kegs on the premise.

Potbelly: Renton
The popular Chicago-based sandwich shop will open at the Landing on January 22. The day before Keith Prokop, general manager, says the shop will team up with Renton High School to raise funds for its athletic department. Donate $5 and get a sandwich, chips, and drink. Go Indians. 

Top Pot Drive-Thru: Issaquah
The latest location of the doughnut chain is not only its first in Issaquah, but its first with a drive-thru. Look for the cafe at 12th Avenue Northwest and Northwest Maple Street to open in late February.

Calozzi's: Downtown Seattle
Calozzi's
has a new home. The cheesesteak shop closed its Pioneer Square location a couple weeks ago but has secured another storefront in the Rainier Building at 1306 Fourth Avenue.

Brian Cartenuto: Local 360
Brian Cartenuto, opening chef of Wallingford’s Cantinetta, is back in the 206 after a few years of running his Florida burger joint, Tucker Duke’s. Eater Seattle reports Cartenuto is joining the team at Local 360 though in what capacity has yet to be determined.
