OPENINGS

Silver Tray
Wallyhood reports that a husband-wife duo from Thailand has taken over the former Lotus Thai restaurant. Their joint also is inspired by Siamese cuisine. Silver Tray is open Monday through Friday 11 to 9:30 and noon to 9:30 on the weekends.

Bar Cotto
Ethan Stowell's salumeria and bar, located adjacent to Anchovies and Olives on 15th Avenue, is doing business as of Friday. The menu of meats is plentiful, while wood-fired ovens produce a variety of 13-inch pies. Bar Cotto is open daily from 4 to 11pm.

My Sweet Little Cakes
Pancakes on a stick? That's the concept behind Seattle's newest mobile venture. The retro trailer dispensing sweet and savory hotcakes (and highly caffeinated homemade chai) is parked at 1208 Pine Street weekdays from 7 to 5.

CLOSINGS

Showa
Owners Taichi Kitamura and Steve Tamura took to Facebook to announce they will shutter their Fremont restaurant on February 24. The space will reportedly house a new eatery come early March. Eater Seattle says that Kitamura and Tamura will focus their attention on their Eastlake venture, Sushi Kappo Tamura.

Paratii
Owner Sam Hassan plans to close up shop Friday in order to embark on a new distillery project, but he's not doing so without a party and grand tasting of his long-aging sour beer. Billy Beach, owner of downtown spot Japonessa, plans to open a sushi bar in Paratii's place. 

COMING SOON

Miyabi 45th
Any day now Mutsuko Soma, a Chez Shea and Harvest Vine vet, will unveil her gastropub. Although Soma is known for her soba dishes, the restaurant isn't a noodle house but rather has a menu of Japanese small plates with French and Spanish influences.

Le Zinc
Maximilien owner Willy Boutillier and partner Christian Potvin are planning a casual French bistro for the under-construction Vox Apartments at 15th Avenue and Pine Street. Noted restaurant wizard Graham Baba Architects will helm the project, slated to open in May.

What has Scott Carsberg been doing since Bisato closed last year? Well these days he’s helping out in the kitchen at the Capitol Hill mausoleum-turned-beer bar. Owner Ian Roberts says the chef is planning a bang-up fancy beer dinner when Seattle Beer Week rolls around.
