Diane Morgan Dinner and Book Signing at Trace
Diane Morgan, Portland-based author of ROOTS: The Definitive Compendium, is partnering with chef Steven Ariel of Trace to serve a four-course meal inspired by the vegetable-centric cookbook. Ivar’s Northwest Winter Beer Tasting

O-S Winery Dinner at Copperleaf
For the premiere of O-S Winery’s 2010 Sonas, local vintners Bill Owen and Rob Sullivan are hosting a five-course truffle dinner at Copperleaf Restaurant and Bar. For reservations call 206-214-4282. Dinner is served at 6:30; tickets are $135.
Washington Winter Beer Festival at Hale's
Washington Beer Commission is showcasing regional winter brews at Hale’s Brewery and Pub on Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9. Tickets are $25 in advance ($30 at the door) and include six five-ounce tastings and a special tasting cup. DD’s get in for $5.

Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl
Tim’s Tavern and the Phinney Neighborhood Business Association are putting on this neighborhood bar hop for the first time. Show up at Bleacher’s Pub at 7 and end the evening around midnight at Tim’s Tavern. Check online for a list of participating bars and where you can hop in when. Hideous knitwear most certainly encouraged.
Ivar’s Dancing Santa Clam
If the Santa at Ivar’s looks a little... different this holiday season, that's because it's the Dancing Clam donning the disguise. Families are invited December 8, 15, and 22 between noon and 3 to take pictures with the clammy Santa; photos will be available online for a free download.
Tom Douglas at Whole Foods
T-Doug will stop by Whole Foods Market in Lynnwood with some holiday gift ideas (perhaps his Rub with Love products and New York Times bestseller Dahlia Bakery Cookbook?) and host a demo in the cooking department between 1 and 3.
