Taste of West Seattle
Nearly 50 West Seattle establishments are coming together at The Hall at Fauntleroy from 6:30 to 9 to share food and drinks. Sample unlimited tastes for $45 or splurge and receive early entry and guaranteed seating for $90. The event benefits the West Seattle Helpline, which helps West Seattleites in financial trouble.

FRIDAY, May 17

Copper Gate’s Syttende Mai party
This annual 17th of May festival marks the official National Day of Norway. The parade that marches through Ballard began in 1974. Tickets to a traditional Norwegian lunch are available at Leif Erikson Lodge, or celebrate with happy hour discounts on aquavit and Scandinavian fare from 3 to 7, served from a bar shaped like a viking ship and festooned with photos of scantily clad ladies.

Andaluca's Scarborough Winemakers Dinner

Champagne and Charade
Chef John Howie and Veuve Cliquot come together at the Shops at the Bravern for a night of Champagne, truffled popcorn, and the movie Charade starring Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. The $40 tickets are selling fast and can be bought online. The event begins at 6:30 with the movie starting an hour later. All proceeds benefit the French Immersion School in Bellevue.

TRACE Sushi Class: Japanese Beer and Tempura Rolls
Sushi master Hayeong and executive chef Ryan Loo introduce Japanese beers and instruct on the artistry of fresh tempura rolls. The two-hour class begins at 2 and costs $50.

Dinner and a Show for Huntington’s Disease
The Northwest Chapter’s Huntington’s Disease Society of America hosts acoustic duo Cricket and Snail for a dinner, silent auction, and live show at OneLife Community Church. The event costs $10; buy tickets online with all proceeds benefitting those impacted by Huntington’s.

Food Truck Roundup
The University District Food Bank is celebrating 30 years and launching a campaign to raise money for a new four-story facility. The first event is a food truck roundup at the Phinney Neighborhood Center with Skillet and the Barking Frog Mobile Kitchen, along with the Fremont Brewing Company and live music from Ali Marcus among other participants. The $25 ticket includes 8 bites and 4 sips.

Tom Douglas’s Culinary Summer Camp
A summer camp for grown-ups? You could call it that considering the eating and drinking continues for five days. Transform into a chef (or at least try) with cooking demonstrations, field-trips, and hands-on training with Thierry Rautureau (Rover’s and Luc), Ethan Stowell (lots of stuff), Jason Franey (Canlis), Tom Douglas (of course), and more.
