Kirkland Uncorked Wine Festival
Marina Park plays host to this regional showcase of food, wine, and art. There’s live music, artist showrooms, a boat show, tasting garden, and perhaps the most irresistible event of the weekend: a dog modeling contest. The festival runs through Sunday.
SATURDAY July 21
Amazing Kitchen Race
Time to bust out the GPS device. For this heated competition, clues planted around the city lead up to an appetizer cook-off at Seattle Wine Outlet. The competition starts at 11 and costs $95 per person, or $75 with the registration of a team of four.
A Day In the Life of a Raw Food Vegan
Raw foods enthusiast Madeline Eyer will walk guests through breakfast, lunch, and dinner—without cooking a single item above 117 degrees. The course, hosted by 21 Acres Center for Local Food and Sustainable Living, starts at 11. Registration is $60–$70.

Columbia City Chow Down
Purchase a $50 "passport" and sample an eclectic range of ethnic cuisines from 15 of the neighborhood’s restaurants. Rainier Valley Food Bank hosts its second annual fundraiser from 5 to 9.
- August 7 "Tuesday Tune Up" at Salty’s will feature live music, specialty cocktails, and appetizers to benefit the Brosio-Hamasaki-Stein Guild, a local non-profit helping cancer patients and their families. The party is from 6:30–8:30 at the Alki location, and there’s no cover charge.
- August 9 More opportunities for live tunes at the Woodland Park Zoo, plus wine tasting, concessions, and animals, of course. In accordance with the zoo’s sustainability practices, the twice-a-summer, after-hours affair is "bring your own glass." Tasting Flight tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door.
