Holiday Party Appetizers at the Willows Lodge
As part of the annual cooking, baking, and cocktailing classes of Holiday Boot Camp, this Woodinville lodge will be offering a complimentary class in the Fireside Cellars at 5:30. Executive chef Bobby Moore of Barking Frog will show you the tricks of the trade to making easy and delicious party appetizers. Menu items include cauliflower tempura with white cheddar fondue and shrimp fritters with mirin gastrique. The class is first come, first served, and space is limited.

Prohibition Pop-Up at Golden Beetle
Join Maria Hines and celebrate the 80th anniversary of libation liberty with some classic 1930s cocktails and bites. In this four-course meal, Hines will focus on historically appropriate dishes from each American region, like baked oysters with breadcrumbs, sweet potato tarts, and skirt steak with kale, all paired with special vintage cocktails. Prohibition Repeal Day at Bar Cotto
The salumeria and cocktail bar in Capitol Hill is celebrating the end of Prohibition with special cocktails and punch starting at 10, when happy hour starts, and continuing until close, with food being served until 1. Prohibition attire is encouraged—now you have an excuse to wear that fedora or boa in the back of your closet.

Repeal Day Party at Smith
Partnering with Oola Distillery, Smith is partying like it’s 1933 with fun, classic cocktails starting at 8. Try Oola’s new barrel-finished gin in the classic hanky panky, as well as other vintage cocktails featuring Oola's spirits. 

Ivar’s Northwest Winter Beer Tasting
This waterfront spot is welcoming winter the right way—with lots of beer. The $35 price tag will get you pours from 10 local breweries, including Elysian Brewing Co., Redhook Brewery, and Georgetown Brewing Co.. Winter Beer Festival
When more than 1,000 craft beer connoisseurs get together to talk about (and drink) malty stouts and barrel-aged gems, things are bound to get fun. Brought to you by Washington Beer Commission, this two-day brew bash will be held in Hanger 30 in Magnuson Park. Get a free tasting glass along with admission, and try six five-ounce tastes from breweries throughout the area, including Airways Brewing, Elliot Bay Brewing, and Redhook Brewery. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and can be purchased at Big Time Brewery, Hales Ales, or online.

MONDAY, December 9

Dance Party at Cupcake Royale
This hot pink bakeshop has brought sweetness to Seattle for 10 years, and it’s time to party. All day, come to any location to receive a complimentary dance party babycake and get special discounts on new merchandise. As a thank you for making these years so awesome, the staff invites you to come celebrate the anniversary at the Madrona location. Westland Distillery Whiskey Dinner
Assembly Hall and Westland Distillery, Seattle’s newest distillery, are teaming up to bring you a night of whiskey drinking to commence the holiday season. Chef Brian Walczyk and sous chef Camerin Hanin are preparing a four-course dinner with special, limited-release whiskey pairings. This $75 meal features menu items like pork tenderloin, dry-aged standing rib roast, and smoked salt and whiskey caramel chocolate cake. Tickets are available online.

Shanik’s One Year Anniversary
Starting on December 2, this modern Indian restaurant in South Lake Union is celebrating its one year anniversary. Meeru Dhalwala and Oguz Istif have created a special three-course meal with red and white wine pairings. This experience is available through December 7 and includes choices such as lamb and beef kebabs with creamy Bengali curry, beef short ribs in black cardamom curry, and Indian custard, all with an optional pairing flight.
