Sexy Syrah
Salty’s on Alki Beach is hosting its the 12th annual syrah event, with tantalizing red wines from more than 30 Washington wineries and sultry appetizers, including Alaskan halibut cakes and beef brisket sliders. A portion of the $45 ticket benefits FareStart, a nonprofit dedicated to providing culinary job training to disadvantaged individuals.

Sarah Matheny puts a healthy spin on mainstream family favorites such as tacos, lasagna, and brownies, sourcing her New York Times-bestselling book Peas and Thank You. The Book Larder event is free from 6:30 to 8.

Japanese Farm Food Dinner with Nancy Singleton Hachisu
As part of her book tour, Japanese Farm Food author Nancy Singleton Hachisu is taking over the kitchen at Hitchcock for a dinner featuring fermented goods and organic rice straight from Singleton’s farm in Japan.
