Cooking with Class
Cook alongside three chefs of your choosing during this 11th annual fundraiser for Providence Senior and Community Services. Salty's on Alki will provide appetizers, wine, and beer, and a live auction rounds out the night. Check-in starts at 6pm at Salty's, with classes running from 6:30-9:15pm. Tickets are $125 per person.
Rover's Classics Dinner
Chef Thierry kicks off a series of Rover's 25th anniversary celebrations with a dinner of the classic dishes that helped shape the current menu. Patrons can get the five-course meal for $85 and wine pairing for $50 or $100.
Drinking Lessons: Absinthe
Join leading bartenders, drink historians, and distillers at the Hunt Club bar to learn about that magical spirit, absinthe, also known as "the green fairy." Select bites from Hunt Club's new happy hour menu will be on hand. Reservations are $35 per person, with sessions at 6pm and 8pm.
The Pop-Up @400Fairview
Stop by The Pop-Up @400Fairview at 5pm for an end-of-summer parking lot party with live music from A Cedar Suede, ping pong, lawn games, Skillet Street Food, and libations from Georgetown Brewing Company. Chime in with your ideas for the forthcoming Market Hall at 400 Fairview by writing suggestions on the chalkboard mural. All proceeds help support the Cornish Scholarship Fund.

Organic Beer, Cider, and Chocolate Tasting
As part of Washington Organic Week, join the staff at Theo Chocolate for an evening of beer, cider, and chocolate tastings. Tickets are $20 for general admission, or shell out an extra $5 for the VIP hour at 6:30, which includes exclusive guided samplings.

Third Annual You Dirty Beach Clean-Up
Join JACK-FM and Alaskan Brewing Company at Duke's Chowder House to help spruce up Alki Beach. The first 50 people to register and return a bag of trash will receive a pair of tickets to the Jason Mraz show on September 22 at the Gorge. Registration starts at 10am, and all are invited to the after party at Duke's.
Back to School with PBS

Fete de Louisiane
New Oreleanian Matthew Lewis, aka Where Ya At Matt, is creating a four-course Creole feast at Madison Park Conservatory with MPC's Cormac Mahoney and Julia "Boudin Babe" Price. Tickets are $42 per person. DJ Trickbag provides the live entertainment.
October 2 Bruce Aidells is stopping by Rain Shadow Meats at Melrose Market to tout his new release, The Great Meat Cookbook, and share tips on ordering and preparing different cuts. Rain Shadow's Russel Flint also will demo how to break down a Tails and Trotters pig, with a buffet-style dinner with dishes from Aidell's book to follow. Tickets are $80 per person, and include a copy of The Great Meat Cookbook, two beverage tickets, and the buffet.
October 7 The Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance will host its eighth annual fundraiser, An Incredible Feast: Where the Farmers are the Stars!, at Swanson's Nursery from 6-9pm. The evening will include bites prepared by 23 Seattle chefs, a silent auction featuring food-related prizes, live music, local wine and microbrews, games, and more. Tickets are $125 per person.
