Bluebird growler
Fill 'er up. Bluebird Microcreamery now has growlers.

BALLARD
While in town filming Kitchen Nightmares
, Gordon Ramsay stopped by a couple Ballard nosheries and snapped a few shots—and got a cyber spanking from Eater Seattle because of his lackluster photo skills. Stick to the yelling and cooking, Ramsay.

BELLTOWN
There's more to toddies than whisky and hot water. On Saturday, December 8 join Paul Clarke of The Cocktail Chronicles for a class on “holiday drinks that don’t suck." If interested, the class happens at Rob Roy and costs $45. E-mail Kristina at Kristina@swigwell.com to reserve your spot.

CAPITOL HILL
Another local cookbook to add to your list: Cooking Against the Grain by Lark chef John Sundstrom. The recipe-rich tome is available for pre-order for $50.

PHINNEY RIDGE
Just a few weeks ago, Bluebird Microcreamery also became a microbrewery, and now shiny growlers are available for $20. Included in the purchase is a coupon good for a fill of beer such as Theo Chocolate Milk Stout or Caffe Vita Coffee Porter. For now, the jugs are only available at the Phinney Ridge location but soon all shops will stock them.

QUEEN ANNE
Queen Anne Avenue's annual Holiday Magic evening happens on December 7 from 4 to 8. Most, if not all shops, cafes, and restaurants are featuring sales, treats, and assorted holiday cheer. Check out Queen Anne View for a list of activities at each participating location.

EVERYWHERE
Starbucks is gearing up to take over the world for an incredibly ambitious expansion. The Mermaid has announced it will open 1,500 new stores—at least—in the U.S. over the next five years, and another 20,000 international cafes by 2014.
