CAPITOL HILL
The 12th Avenue Neighborhood Festival returns Sunday, August 14. From noon–6 participating food spots (Skillet, The Local Vine, Barrio, Caffe Vita, Boom Noodle, lots more) will serve up $5 bites.

Bar Ferd’nand Coffee comes to Melrose Market the week of August 16th, according to Sprudge and CHS. The shop will serve java from roasters Heart and Stumptown, and brews will come courtesy of an Aeropress, the first in Seattle.

CHS also reports the Capitol Hill Night Market is temporarily on hold due to scheduling and parking conflicts.

Forthcoming North Broadway restaurant Altura is pushing back its opening date to the end of September or early October.

Look for cookbook Cutie Pies, by Dani of High 5 Pie, in September.

CENTRAL DISTRICT
The kosher Beehive Bakery is now softly open at the corner of 23rd and Union, reports Central District News.

DOWNTOWN
Denny Triangle will host a different food truck every day from August 15–19. The first 100 folks to show up between noon and 1pm will be treated to free eats. For truck and location specifics, follow Downtown Seattle on Facebook and Twitter.

The Macy’s Chefs-a-Go-Go truck will land at the Seattle Center Pavilion on September 1 from 5–8pm. Swing by for free dishes cooked by from restaurant extraordinaire Tom Douglas.

FREMONT
Pay-per-ounce froyo spot Cool Whirled is now open on Fremont Avenue, reports Fremont Universe.

Expect a new desserts menu at Revel. Each month the bill will be built around a different theme; current offerings include chocolate semifreddo, watermelon granita, and peach ice cream.
