According to My Ballard Benito’s Chicago Eatery is coming in September to the 6200 block of 15th Ave NW. Chef and Chicago native Benjamin Kulikowski says Benito’s will carry three Windy City staples: Italian beef, deep-dish pizza, and hot dogs.

COLUMBIA CITY
Autumn Martin, former head chocolatier at Theo Chocolate and purveyor of Hot Cakes, is honoring National S’mores Day on August 10 with special treats: roasted marshmallows sandwiched between two s’mores cookies. They’ll be available that day at the neighborhood farmers market and also at the Wallingford, Bellevue, West Seattle, and Lake Forest Park markets.

Doubletree by Hilton Hotel is handing out 10,000 free chocolate chip cookies from a “Cookie CAREavan” at Westlake Park from noon to 6 on August 3. Seattle is the last stop on the cookie-mobile’s ten-week, 10,000-mile, 50-city trek across the country.

Art Restaurant and Lounge is expanding its famed cheese table by adding antipasti and featuring monthly a local cheese maker. The spread is available daily 4:30–10 for $14.

Where Ya At Matt fetes one year on the road with free red velvet cupcakes on Wednesday at 309 Pontius Ave N.

Skillet Street Food (FYI: the brick-and-mortar counterpart just launched happy hour) is hosting a fundraiser for Farmstead Meatsmith, a Vashon-based butcher hoping to produce a series of instructional webisodes. The benefit happens August 7 at Island Meadow Farm on 10301 SW Cemetery Road.
