Earlier this month, Burger King debuted an ice cream sundae topped with caramel, hot fudge and…bacon. People freaked out, some because they love bacon, others because the applications of this innocent pork product gets more ridiculously gimmicky by the day.
But at Fill Tilt Ice Cream, owner Justin Cline is taking action. Yesterday his four ice cream shops launched the Kingslayer Sundae—a banana split with chocolate and slated caramel ice cream, hot fudge, bacon caramel sauce, and crumbles of chocolate-covered bacon, topped with whipped cream and a cherry. Yes, it’s a jab at the BK version. And yes, says Cline, the name is also a Game of Thrones reference. “Apparently I hire dorks, and they chose the name. Awesome dorks.
The Kingslayer will be on the menu through the summer at Full Tilt’s locations in Ballard, White Center, Columbia City, and the U District. This orgy of bacon and ice cream will run you $6.
