Last summer Melissa Nyffeler launched a sandwich bar out of her Olive Way restaurant Dinette. The stellar lunchtime lineup was an instant hit.
In mid-October Nyffeler 86’ed the menu owing to the changing season. ‘Twas a bummer, but then—thankfully—the stacks resurfaced at neighboring bar Montana, where a limited few are available nightly. They’ve been on the dinner bill at Dinette as well, but for those who prefer theirs with a side of sun, Nyffeler is bringing back the full midday menu this Monday, June 4.
Between six and eight sandwiches will be on hand weekdays 11–2. The selection will rotate (depending on produce, et cetera), but expect regular appearances from crowd favorites like the cubano, porchetta, and truffled eggwich.
Another development worth a whoop or two: ice cream sandwiches. Nyffeler (who was whipping up a batch of the frozen stuff during our phone call, in fact) says she will prepare two or three kinds till the sandwich bar wraps up August 31.
